What exactly is Hypnotherapy you ask?
At Greenwood Hypnotherapy, it is a state of relaxation where the subject is actively involved; it does not get done to you! Under hypnosis, people showed significantly more brain activity in the anterior cingulate gyrus. This area of the brain has been shown to respond to errors and evaluate emotional outcomes. There is also more brain activity on the left side of the prefrontal cortex . This is an area involved with higher level cognitive processing and behaviour.
In layman terms, you tend to concentrate on one set of thoughts and to be less aware of other thoughts, brain wave studies show it is similar to the state you are in as you wake up, but before you are fully awake. A sort of relaxed but aware half sleep. By making changes in this state, feeling more confident about problem issues and more in control is likely that you will find it easier to deal with problem issues.
As in any other area in life, not everyone responds in the same way. That is one of the reasons you get two visits to start you on the way towards your goals.
